Welcome to the A-R Music Anthology
The A-R Music Anthology (ARMA) is a rich resource that consists of more than 7000 pages of content, including music scores, peer-reviewed articles, and structured commentaries on core works. Instructors can use ARMA's entire contents to make customized courses in music history and music theory, and this nuanced approach to a textbook surpases the limitations of print. The peer-reviewed articles are particularly strong in offering specific emphases that shape the content, from overviews to articles on important composers and significant works, as found in these categories:
- Surveys/Overviews
- Genres & Forms
- Music Theory
- Major Composers
- Significant Works
Additional peer-reviewed articles in all these areas are in preparation, including explorations of women, black composers, and various perspectives on popular music. To assist in exploring the articles, ARMA's Resource Pages offer guided access to the resources. Likewise, the New Content page lists the most recent additions to ARMA. With 60 articles currently available and additional content in preparation, ARMA stands apart for the ways it responds to the needs of instructors and their students in the twenty-first century.
